This holiday season was wonderful. We seriously could not have asked for much better. We were able to spend time with family, have a break from work and school and even take a short road trip. We started off by heading down to Arizona. We took our time to get down there and just had an enjoyable trip. We stopped in Las Vegas and stayed at Circus Circus. McKay got to ride on a few rides and dad even won him a stuffed frog. The next day we stopped at the London Bridge in Havasu Az. We finally made it to Tempe. We spent the rest of the week in Az with family. We played games, went shopping and just visited. We celebrated Grandma and Grandpa Merrill’s 60th wedding anniversary!!! Wah who!!! It was fun listening to stories about their lives together. They have created such a wonderful legacy for all of us. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We drove home on the 23rd of December. Christmas Eve we spent with the Daniels family. We played games and went caroling followed up by our traditional Christmas Eve dinner, steak, shrimp, salad and potatoes on the fine china. I have to throw in this funny story about McKay. We were out caroling and there was a bird house on someone porch. Trish was talking to Porter about how he had built one in school. McKay looked at the bird house, looked Porter and then turned around and said, “I need school”. Ha ha it was so funny I guess it is time for us to start looking for a school for McKay. Christmas Morning was also spent at the Daniels. It was fun watching McKay and Porter open all their presents; they were so excited about EVERYTHING they got. Santa Clause spoiled all of us!!!! Then we came home and spent Christmas evening with the Grondels and our being spoiled continued! By the time it was time to open presents McKay was pretty tired of opening presents and had no interest at all. He just wanted to play with all his new toys.
